ATV Training Ontario was established in 2006 by Dave Haney during the explosion of ATV popularity. In 2007 ATO partnered with the Napanee & District ATV Club to promote safety as part of the club’s safety mandate. Steve Baldwin and his son Nikolis participated as students that first year and have since been involved in almost all (over 100) of the ATV, UTV and Snowmobile courses delivered to the public as well as many many corporations who require certification for employees using the machines in the workplace.

Over the years Dave has qualified as a Chief Instructor for the Canada Safety Council. This means he certifies new Instructors to teach ATV, UTV and Snowmobile courses.

Shortly afterward, Steve achieved Instructor status for ATVs and UTVs and is soon to be joined by Nik as an Instructor. Currently, Nik performs demonstrations as an assistant. Often Nik’s young son Jackson takes in the courses his dad and Grandfather teach.

Our official training site is a decommissioned pit in Prince Edward County which offers terrain second to none. If you want to learn this is the place and WE are the folks to make sure it’s the best training you’ll experience. We do offer courses at appropriate locations upon request.

Since 2007 we have offered and participated in a number of safety initiatives and seminars in the classrooms of our local schools and municipal safety day events such as:

Greater Napanee Touch the Trucks

Flinton Safety Day

Prince Charles Public School

Napanee District Secondary School

Toronto Powersports Show

Quinte Outdoors Show

Minden Mud Bog

Lafarge Cement Safety Symposium

In 2010, Steve founded Y.E.A.P. (Youth Educational Awareness Program), where we successfully provided accredited training to youths aged 6 – 11.
